An idea worth spreading

We are not limited by our bodies and minds. We are much more than what we think we are. There are higher levels of consciousness which we can reach. We can delve deep into ourselves, understand who we are .Once that awareness is there we will progress slowly but steadily. It is a great pleasure to go higher and higher. No amount of material possessions can give us that much of happiness and joy. This is not a new idea, but I feel deeply about it.It is not just an intellectual awareness but an intense feeling which flows through my body and energises me.It is contagious.

I'm passionate about

I am passionate about giving motivational speeches. It gives me great pleasure if I can motivate someone to do what he or she always want to do but for some reason or the other find it difficult to do.

Talk to me about

Toastmasters.I am an enthusiastic toastmaster.I have been a toastmaster for the past 8yrs and I enjoy every moment of it.Apart from it I like to talk about spirituality and NLP.

People don't know I'm good at

People don't know that Ia m good at cooking. They do not associate me with cooking.I am a master practitioner of NLP.

Why should listening be taught as a skill in school?
It is very important to teach listening skills in schools. Most of the problems people face in their relationships are due to defective listening.Listening connects people and help them to understand one another.Children bloom when they are listened to.Alistener is a magnetic personality. He is more effective than a speaker.People get drawn towards a person who listens in a non judgemental way and do not advise.World will be a better place to live if we really start listening.

In order to make yourself happy, you need to make others happy first?
I wish every country concentrates on it's problems and miseries and creare a happy .peaceful atmosphere for it's citizensEvery country has has poverty, corruption health care problems and others. Why not deal with them before thinking of other country problems.Once we solve our problems, definitely we can try to help others.

Where do you think consciousness comes from?
I wish I knew the answers.Anyway let me saay what I think and feel.People have consciousness to guide them.It is the energy or power which guides us.Many a time we hear people saying,"My conscience doesn't allow me to do it."I think it must have come from the same place from where we have come.I do not think that it can be created but can be expanded.

Where do you think consciousness comes from?
I wish I knew the answers.Any way let me say what I think and feel. we have consciousness to guide us.Many a time we hear someone saying "My conscience doesn't allow me to do that"So there is an inherent power or energy with in us which acts as a guide. It must have come from the same place from where we have come.I do not think that it can be created artificially, but it can be expanded.

A conversation with GE: Why do we avoid making tough health choices? And, what could motivate us to behave differently?
Dear Dr.Nanacy, You touched upon the most important aspect of doctor-patient relationship i.e.taking time to ask basics.,2 decades ago when there were not many specialities and specialists,a family doctor used to play a significant role in people's lives. He or she was the doctor, counsellor, friend, philosopher and guide.People had immense faith in their family doctors. Now with the advent of multi speciality hospitals ,medical technological advances and commercialisation and insurance, people think twice before going to hospitals. Many feel that they are not people friendly. Here in Bangalore we have a NGO known as"Helping Hand" whose volunteers visit the hospitals and help the patients and their families.Probably,we need more volunteers to do this kind of work.I strongly feel that medical students should be trined in communication and counselling skills.

A conversation with GE: Why do we avoid making tough health choices? And, what could motivate us to behave differently?
My experience as a doctor tells me generally people avoid going to doctors,as they think that nothing is seriously wrong with them.People tend to think tfinancial aspechat all bad things happen to others, but not to them.In India, it is common to try home remedies, alternative systems of medicine before they consult an allopathic doctor Secondly ,many are of the impression that medical practitioners ask for too many unwanted investigations. To add to all these is the inconvenience of going to the hospitals, waiting for the doctors, visiting various departments for investigations and the most important expenditure they are likely to incur deter people from going to hospitals.
