About Me

Hey guys!!!! This is Pavan Vasan but u can call me Vasan for easiness in communication!!!! i am a 2nd year engineering student with my field of specialisation being computer sciences!!! i am also a member of IEEE-MSRIT(student branch).

Location:
India, Bangalore
Gender:
Male
Areas of expertise:
Computer science and engineering

More About Me

I'm passionate about

Robotics, computer sciences and electronics, music, arts like drawing cartoons etc, especially manga and dance!!!!

An idea worth spreading

Creating a music producing device which can produce the type of music as desired by the user just by using a headphone type components to listen to the sounds made by the user then transferring the sounds through radiowaves etc. these waves are then receieved by another component containing transducers, embedded systems etc that convert the waves into voltages which are then converted into sound waves. The system contains a microprocessor that is programmed using OOP concept based languages like Java, c, c++ (androids too are applicable). the software installed is modelled to produce music suitable for the incoming data(sound waves/converted voltages) using percussion, wind etc modulators can be used to change the characteristics of the incoming sound waves like its amplitude, pitch, wavelength, frequency, phase, intensity etc.

Talk to me about

Music, arts, dance and lots more!!!! sorry......can't fit in all of them within the maximum character limit!!!!

My TED Story

i am really passionate about engineering!!! But more than that, i loved bringing in ideas spreading it amongst people!!! On learning about this, my father recommended me to register for TED so that i could expand my horizons and spread my ideas with even more zeal and enthusiasm......so here i am registering, filled with anticipation and excitement hoping to do what i believe in.......SPREADING IDEAS for the benefit of humanity all over the world!!!!!

  • A comment on Talk: Dennis Hong: Making a car for blind drivers

Jul 15 2011: i have not seen the video yet because my speakers are not working at the moment so i cannot hear what has been spoken, so i dont know what sort of mechanism has been implemented. But if i may be permitted to make a suggestion, i would suggest an analogus type of technology comparable to the echolocation principle employed by bats to find obstacles and combining it with logical circuits consisting of transducers(these also are used for sensing light intensity so as to turn on the headlights automatically in case of night driving) which would warn the driver about the obstacles so that he can take the required precautions and in some cases bring in autopiloting of the vehicle being driven whenever necessary.
  • A reply on Conversation: Are you optimistic or pessimistic, and why?

Jul 15 2011: @Fotis: u can be an optimist by motivating yourself......by reading autobiographies etc. but the most important thing is that u must believe in yourself by thinking that u can do anything you want to do!!!!! always look on the bright side of your life irrespective of the good or bad things in life!!!
  • A comment on Conversation: Are you optimistic or pessimistic, and why?

    Jul 15 2011: always optimistic!!!
  • A comment on Conversation: Innovative studying methods?

Jul 13 2011: hey how about this!!?? You can teach them about different things through unconventional techniques like video games and stuff!!! You can use something like a PS3 or some other gaming media to teach them different subjects like history, science, mathematics. You can even work on their imagination!!!! suppose some kids like the beyblade serials,You could tell them something about the related principles of physics like torque, moment, forces, their simultaneous actions etc with reference to a beyblade!!!!
