A reply on Conversation: is Koran scientifically a miracle?

Jun 20 2011: Paul the Octopus correctly predicted the outcomes (winner/loser not score) of Germany's World Cup Games? Frankly, I don't see any "prediction", whether it is later found to be correct or not, to be science or miracle.
  • A comment on Conversation: It's great to shop at thrift stores if you live in an affluent area where used clothing started our upscale. How about low SES shoppers?

Jun 20 2011: Is it really that bad? People should wear clothes for what the protective garments that they are. People shouldn't mind if they don't have fashionable clothes as long as they are functional. Same things goes with cars. Why buy an expensive one to get from here to there when you can do the same with something more affordable?

A reply on Conversation: can we mix both science AND religion in the world?

Jun 20 2011: Imagine all you want. You will most likely end up wrong given the complexity of the world around us. A scientific understanding of the way things are allows us to further ourselves and our society. Try to imagine a solution to global warming without using any scientific basis in coming up with a solution. I don't think that it is possible. Things just don't work like that.
