My TED Story

once upon a time there was a passionate, but angry educator.
he was passionate because he loved life,
but he was angry because of the way education today was going--
as he'd often say, it's going "to hell in a hand cart".

every day he would see his talented students suffer from the messages of our
troubled global economy and their so-called place in it.

one day he decided to do something about it. he wrote emails, talked to people, and did tons of research on Career Technical Education.

because of that, he created a simple 3-phase plan to change education: Mindset, Strategy, & Execution.

because of that, others got involved and people everywhere began to see the great value of Career Technical Education.

until finally, his anger was washed away with the kind of glow that teaching in a great community can bring . . . and because he bought shoes that made him look taller.

  Jun 15 2011: I love the work you do abroad AND here. At home (in Portland, your own turf), I've seen the principles we discussed together work in public schools here--and it is so needed. The values of sportsmanship, pure joy, and focus you encourage have all touched so many lives. Anywhere you go, we enjoy the fact you spread the gospel of Universal Values in Sport that tie us all together.
