Niel Malan Posted about 2 months ago Joi Ito: Want to innovate? Become a "now-ist" Respectfully beg to differ. Not that anything Jo Ito says is wrong, it's just that he omits something very important: money. I have the skill to build and the knowledge to understand the open-source Geiger counter, but at USD 450.00 on Amazon the kit is just beyond my resources. And in my country I'm one of the richer people! (I can afford enough bandwidth to watch this video, for example.) It's easy to innovate in a resource-rich environment. I'm not sure I can learn much from Joi Ito. I am, however, humbled by people like William Kamkwamba, who built a wind generator from scrap in Malawi.
