A comment on Conversation: Does the amount of space available to us affect our thinking

Jan 1 2013: Hi, Greg, I'm familiar with the philosophy that constraints drive creativity but even in Schwartz TED talk 'The Paradox of Choice' he reiterates that Less is More but only in certain circumstances where the fundamentals are provided. Otherwise less is less.
  • A comment on Conversation: Does the amount of space available to us affect our thinking

Dec 30 2012: Most successful entrepreneurs in the creative and tech industry come from the middle class. Perhaps its the freedom ( personal space) to experiment that led to the zeal. Contrast a child growing in a house of six siblings sharing bedroom, computers e.t.c to a house of two siblings each having their own bedroom and computer, they are bound to do more and discover more. The solitude is also rife for contemplative thoughts that lead to entrepreneurship.

Dec 26 2012: While that is true, child have a personal space wll tend to start their bedrooom laboratories, bedroom office, bedroom garage et al. This enhances their creativity and freedom of thought, factors absent in crowded hkmes and neighbourhoods.
  • A reply on Conversation: Can technology replace doctors in third world countries

Apr 11 2012: The type of technology that can be used in developing countries is not high-tech because of cost and infrastructural issues. There have been a couple of TED videos on medical devices that were created for use in 3rd world countries, an example is an anesthesiology machine that does use electricity.

With good penetration of mobile phones, SMS based diagnostics can be implemented successfully in developing countries.

Apr 11 2012: The need for personal contact with doctors maybe limited to field like physiotherapy, psychiatry or dentistry. Common sickness, according to my view can be diagnosed by technology.
  • A reply on Conversation: Can technology replace doctors in third world countries

Apr 11 2012: Developed countries have a good doctor-to-patient ratio, while third world countries have a low doctor-to-patient ratio and may necessitate the use of technology to breach this deficit.

  • A reply on Conversation: Do individuals have a social media strategy

Feb 21 2012: Thank you Kathy, I am in the process of re-evaluating the social platforms that I need, getting a 'social media strategy' would come in handy, I am jittery to share personal experience at the same time have lot's of professional info I can offer.
  • A reply on Conversation: Do individuals have a social media strategy

Feb 21 2012: I find it quiet cumbersome and time consuming to maintain numerous account, to add on blogging. Maybe creating a personal social media strategy could straighten that out. Another aspect I discovered is that if your content (blog, tweets) is good enough, other people would carry them to the other platforms, to me the focus should be on good content and a few outlets (Twitter, LinkedIn) to disseminate them.
  • A comment on Conversation: How do You use Social Media to spread the "ideas worth spreading"?

Feb 21 2012: I use twitter to share TED talks that I find interesting, Google+ and Facebook are slow on catching up ideas. LinkedIn has a TED group that is very active I have particularly followed some TED conversation from the forum.
  • A reply on Conversation: Do individuals have a social media strategy

Feb 21 2012: @Kathy Castle: From the conversations gathered above we can safely conclude that the collective set of your decisions constitute your social media strategy. The other aspect that I am interested in is Do you choose what goes to your blog (private/personal issues and professional life or both).
