A comment on Talk: Shlomo Benartzi: Saving for tomorrow, tomorrow

Feb 25 2012: Total nonsense. The fact is most people inherit money and the ones that do not become wage slaves and stay in debt their entire life.

How does a person on minimum wage save?

How does a professional making 50 or 80k get out of debt when owing school loans, having a mortgage a car and presumably trying to have a family.

Slavery just changed names, it is called working class.

A comment on Talk: Stephen Coleman: The moral dangers of non-lethal weapons

Feb 9 2012: Torture devices used as a justification of torture and murder, take Dziekanski for example.
  • A comment on Talk: Lisa Harouni: A primer on 3D printing

Jan 26 2012: We use this technology for spare parts. It works great, we need more software that is easier to use and it will change the planet. Using sand as a product you could construct countless shelters with photovoltaic panels running the machinery. No carbon foot print and we can change the world.
  • A reply on Talk: Alain de Botton: Atheism 2.0

    Jan 23 2012: The cake is a lie! ;+)
  • A comment on Talk: Alain de Botton: Atheism 2.0

Jan 23 2012: It seems to me that the US is entering into a caste system where the wealthy will have opportunities and the poor will not. The new atheist 2.0 will become just another religion like the UU Churches where the knowledge will be shared internally and suppressed from the common man. A great idea in theory but a nightmare for the future.

Mark you a hard line does not change the fact that roughly 2 our of 3 atheists in US are man. It is of-course impossible do know exactly as it changes by the hour.
  • A reply on Talk: Ken Robinson: Bring on the learning revolution!

Dec 9 2011: Individuality is great but we still live in a collective hive.
  • A reply on Talk: Ken Robinson: Bring on the learning revolution!

Dec 9 2011: When over half the US population believes in intelligent design (God) and dismisses evolution there are big challenges for the education system.

How do you get a serious discussion when the spin and disinformation machine in the US starts rolling.

How do you sell this idea to the taxpayers brainwashed in the old ways of doing things?
  • A comment on Talk: Ken Robinson: Bring on the learning revolution!

Dec 9 2011: If you do what you love it really does not seem like work. On average you spend a third of your life sleeping, a third working the last third enjoying life. If you recalculate and add all the school you need to take in order to get to that balanced equation you soon realize that most of your life is spent doing something you don't like to do. Imagine if you can find your purpose early and spend two thirds of your life doing what you like and the last third in pleasant dreams. That would be grand!

How do you educate for jobs that have not been created yet? The old school model is outdated and broken. Students copy and paste their way through collages in order to get a higher paying job. This does not make them creative, clever maybe. There is a better way and this man is pointing us towards it.
  • A reply on Talk: Cheryl Hayashi: The magnificence of spider silk

Dec 9 2011: There are some obstacles but well worth looking into. I wonder if a spider based synthetic silk could assist in the space elevator? Good point about the spinnerets KJ.
