  • A comment on Conversation: What makes someone "interesting" and how does this affect their level of attractiveness?

Oct 22 2012: One is never universally interesting. whether one is interesting to someone would depend primarily on that someone's attitudes, likings, traits etc. So one can be the interesting to many and still be not so to many others.

A comment on Conversation: What is the key to smarter decisions?

Oct 22 2012: All the decisions that one make can never be smarter. Only time tells whether the decision taken at some point of time was correct (i.e., smart) or incorrect (i.e., not so smart). When one makes a decision, depending upon one's background, education, experience, knowledge and experience about the matter itself etc. one takes a decision. Thereafter, whether the decision taken was a smart one or not would also depend upon how the developments take place. The so-called non-smart decisions work as lessons of life and help one to make smarter decisions in future.
  • A comment on Conversation: Food Quantity vs. Food Quality

May 9 2012: Both quality and quantity are important in the long run. However, what needs to be checked is control of world population so that in the name of needed quantity, the quality does not deteriorate further.

A comment on Conversation: What does it mean to be happy?

Jun 13 2011: Happiness is a state of mind.
For different people there would be different attainments/aspects which, when fulfilled, would bring them happines.
  • A comment on Conversation: I challenge you to Define Education

May 4 2011: Education can be defined as the process of training of one's head as well as heart so that one eqips oneself to effectively deal with different circumstances/people/challenges that one comes across in one’s life, seek knowledge/information/skills required for fulfilling one’s need, and contribute to the well-being of the society with modesty while keeping himself happy as well as contended, besides being able to earn enough for oneself and one’s dependents.
In addition, education encompasses many other things that can, probably, never be listed in totality.
  • A comment on Conversation: Wealth and power have been our conventional measures of success. What definition will better sustain us now and how can we move into it?

Apr 25 2011: Ms. Anita is right in her statement that the conventional model of success (being measured with the materialistic possessions) has proven to be destructive, separating and pitting us against each other in competition, resulting, ultimately in unhappiness.
It is, probably, because of the increasing consumerism that the individuals have now become self-centered. This has led us to believe that a successful person is the one who has a very good bank balance and a house having crystals, chandeliers, classic furnishings, and branded materialistic possessions. Further, if one sees something better (in fact, costlier) elsewhere and is unable to afford that, one feels saddened in spite of his more-than-required worldly and costly possessions. Still further, because of being materialistic rich, one develops an ego of having had achievements such as title, job, money etc. On the other hand, self-power, based on our own spirit/self and not the objects of our experience/possessions/materialistic achievements, is permanent as it is based on the knowledge of the Self.
With money alone, no one has ever been able to have/purchase treasures such as a good family/friends/relatives, sound health, true love/respect.
