Is it possible to build peace? If so, what strategy do you think is needed?
Davie, Isn't humanity more important than political regimes, religions, wealth, power and influences. I know of course that they all play a big role in how we interact with each other but can it be possible to consider what bring us closer rather than what makes us different. Huntington book "the clash of civilization" is very interesting on that because he explains very well how we always try to perceive things through our own perception of what is good and bad, fair and unfair, right or wrong. Empathy is maybe one of the main element for peace. But lets consider a post conflict situation, is it possible to create conditions in which peace would last? and if so how? I think we should understand how peace works in very small area to get after a wider view of how to develop ideas of what is needed to achieve it.

To give acess to every children in the world to free, good and interesting education through web based services.
hey guys, I am from France so in advance sorry for my english. Anyway, how much do you think cost a laptop? 200-300 dollars maybe you can get it for 150-200 if you find some help. So for a class of 10 to 20 students, it is going to be around 4000 dollars. How much would it cost to hire a teacher of to form one per year? It depends for which country, but I would say according to wages in developing countries 1500 dollars. Then for the price of laptop for 20 kids you can pay a teacher for 3,5 years... it is around the same time period that life expectancy for a laptop... The idea is great and of course it would be great to give all kids very good education and I really think education is the main ingredient for change and development but isn't it too easy imagining giving the same knowledges to all kids in the world. As Huntington said, we consider as "westerners" some knowledges more important than others while in some other places in the world customs are more valuable for example. One more time it is a great idea but you have to consider in this situation humanity as the amount of all the members rather than as a whole to give your project a chance... Anyway, I am really willing to help you in any way with this idea. Good luck
