David Boyle Posted about 4 years ago "What did you want to be when you were little?" I wanted to be a fireman, as most young boys did (I think). As I transitioned into junior high and high school I wanted to be a veterinarian, but was dispelled from that fantasy with the realization of how competitive the veterinarian programs were in college. Instead, I enlisted in the Coast Guard after high school, served on a ship as a fireman (weird, huh?), later became a maritime industry inspector in New York City, and then was accepted into the Coast Guard Academy, where I earned a BS in Marine Environmental Sciences. Caroline's talk reminds me that I ought not limit myself...perhaps veterinarian school will be on the horizon for me soon! Many thanks to Caroline for sharing her story with us all!
