Dec 23 2011: :) That will be great!
  • A comment on Conversation: Do you use crowd wisdom to think? Be part of creating the first ever crowd sourced TED talk

    Dec 22 2011: Hi Lior,

I am also amazed by how the collaboration of people, ideas, resource that make the world closer and more intellectual. Maybe you can put something like multicultural environment and people with diverse background may have some unique contribution to others. The interdependent relationship can enrich the content and areas of crowd wisdom. Like different theory or tradition in different culture or countries, etc. From the benefits to individuals, then to the community.
  • A comment on Conversation: What's one thing you wish you had learned in school?

Dec 1 2011: Something that can actually apply to our reality and help those people who need it. Not just a semester of volunteering class and just do the service in regular time, but something that can solve the problem essentially.
  • A comment on Conversation: An emphasis on technology actually reduces the amount of learning.

Oct 25 2011: Yeah..I think I am adapting to typing sentence rather than writing by hand. Since there are so many advance technology that can replace our habit like taking note on a paper book, these tools are well organized with friendly interface, it certainly provides more convenience to our workplace and study, but there are some side-effect, for instance, most of the write have grammar or spell check for your writing, students may not put extra effort on vocabulary since there are machine helping you to do it correctly. What's more, students may simply copy the information or ideas from the internet especially from blogs.

Besides the influence on the learning skills, the emphasis on technology may also impact the development of creativity. First is about how to generate the ideas: most of the arguments suggest that we can develop our creativity or generate ideas by collecting ideas and be prolific. Technology can provide a platform for you to store information from your own, on the other hand, internet, like I mentioned before, have lots of other information there, which may have negative effects on children's creativity.

But apparently, technology can enhance our learning experience in some degree. Like some multi-media can make our study be more interesting and easily understand.

A comment on Conversation: Is email is dead - this year social media became more popular than email. Is there a future for email?

Oct 19 2011: I think the way of communication that discuss here basically are Email, Social Network and Traditional pen and paper.

For traditional pen and paper, some people are still keep writing letters or postcard these day, but it's began to be a kind of habit, like to present greeting or being romantic. It is still really nice way to communication, but it just not efficient. But writing can be something precious and it's tangible.

For email, I still believe it is the most useful way in any field you want to apply, although email may not have the high speed as IM can have, but you can contain a lot of material in a email, and email can be clear and formal. Normally, I will contact my friend on IM then send material like attachment through email, email can also be a place to store files. Moreover, email can use between you and anybody: your friends, parents, professor...aha, you need email to receive register confirm letter!

For social network, it just a little bit public platform to stress your opinion and message. Normally the information is short, but always the most fresh in-thing.

I think that some of the social network provide you both IM function and email function. You can chat with friend on it, and if you wanna write something a little bit long, then you can send a long 90message in that website too. For instance, Gmail, you have Gtalk and Gmail in the same webpage, which I really like it! :)

I think that nowadays email are become more functional than before..so it can be died that soon..
  • A reply on Conversation: What role does music play within your life?

Oct 18 2011: Impressive! Music is so important in my life as well. :)
  • A comment on Conversation: What role does music play within your life?

Oct 18 2011: I love this question and music means a lot to me!

Music have tremendous effect on me; sometimes, music just represents what I want emotionally, the rhyme, tones and lyrics. Sometimes, music can let me calm down when I am nervous or feel alone.

I just can't live without music...

Thank you for the question! :D

A reply on Conversation: Why did you go to University/College?

Oct 18 2011: Maybe I just that kind of nerd who desire to acess more knowledge and stay in school. In my opinion, Univeristy or college is always a nice choice when you want to have a comfort place to be smart. If we go deeper about the University or College in China, I think this question can be more complicated, and this will narrow down the question..

University is supposed to be a place help student to be on the road.It is common that most of the college students have no idea what they are going to do what kind of people they wanna be (I am still confused about it), in this time, university can be a place that you can try something that you may interested. Because you can not still depending on your family to live your life, to be into college can be a way that you face the reality and go to work, and university can strengthen your skills in some degree. Like if you want to study finance, well, good university can provide a well-orgainize program and great faculties.

University have a completely different way in eduaction while comparing Secondary school like High school. But of course, different countries have different situation.

And university can be like a pre-society, you get to know some extent of the real society, but in a safe place..

Also, a nice university degree do help you when you finding a job.

Going to university can be Win-win choice, I think.

A comment on Conversation: I believe the right to an education is a basic human right..what can we do to make that a reality?

Oct 18 2011: Let's assume that education is a basic human right, like the right to live.

Then face this question into two different situation:

One, you or your family don not have the financial ability to afford you to the school. If somebody like the government have policy to afford you to have a education in low price or even free. You have the right to be educated and the policy protect this right. In this situation, you just basically have the chance and oppotunity to go to school. In this situation, government can help a greater people go to school or be educated while using the relative policy.

Another situation is that you already have the financial ability to school or be educated, but you do not have the equal change to have the same chance to go to a nice college or instuctor, is that violet the basic right of you? Is this unfair? Also, as for a international student, should he or she have the same chance with US residents when applying a school in US? Moreover, if you are the resident in this states, you are prior to go to the college in your own place than people out of the state.

Basically, the last situation is just built on the people who already have the oppotunities in eduaction, but not in a equal way.

So if education is a basic right of human, it not only can be accessed, and also be fair to every one...

Hence, this issues can be involve not only the society and government, also the institute that provide the education.
