A comment on Talk: Elizabeth Gilbert: Your elusive creative genius

Nov 21 2012: I beg to disagree with why the great artists live tormented lives: I think it is because they have an extraordinary sensitivity to everything: human suffering, injustice, indifference, etc.Think of those actors who can get into the skin of any character, those musicians or painters that can feel the injustice of a political system better than any political scientist, Mary´s face in Michelangelo´s Pietá... I think it is that sensitivity (and a desperate need to convey those perceptions in their particular art) what ultimately kills them, and what makes them indispensable to all of us ordinary mortals.
  • A comment on Conversation: What is the impact of Amy Cuddy's body language practice, in cognitive terms?

Oct 15 2012: My layman´s opinion is that one has to be cautious with the concept. I think that what may really make a difference is awareness of our body and attitudes; the constant practice of awareness may produce changes. But just the faking should make no difference, we all meet everyday empty people who care only about their looks, their clothes, etc
