Apr 25 2011: I just loved it. I am an HR consultant and many time I get called in for Career Days at schools or to talk to parents and I say exactly the same thing to students. "Teachers excuse me, but every single one of you students only need to learn two things in school. The first Statistics You cannot survive in the workforce without it. It does not matter if you are an artist, a dentist, a physicologist or any profession. Every profession uses statistics and if you do not know yours, you will be conned. The second skill is writing in an articulate and clear fashion. So all those essays serve only to practice this skill. All the rest...is great for learning how to learn, analysing data and sounding smart, or helping you decide what you like or not! How come this is not obvious?
