About Me

I'm young and loving it! (BTW I'm the kid in the pic.) I'm a precocious (OOH Big word!) 11 year old girl with HUGE ideas on how to improve the world. Although I'm small, I know I can make a difference! I excel in math (My mom teaches me Singapore math) and I like to help classmates who struggle in it so they can enjoy math too. I also like to swim and play tennis (although I'm not THAT great in it.) I also enjoy playing with my iTouch (The new iPad 2 just came out!) and listening to make music to relive stress. (Surprised that kids get stressed? Well they do! Just not as severely as adults)

  • A comment on Conversation: Is War A Necessary Evil?

Mar 15 2011: In some cases war isn't really needed. BUT some wars were important and required in history. An example . . .

The war between the North and the South over Slavery - At that time people in the North were protesting over slavery and wanted it to stop. Therefore a war was started. Many people did die, but after it there was no more slavery (Just discrimination) I think this war wasn't evil because it helped free slaves in the end. (Well the aftereffects of the war, not sure about just the war and fighting)
  • A comment on Conversation: Do you think it's even possible to be 100% happy and fulfilled? If yes, what's your way to do it? If no, why is it so deeply essential to us?

Mar 15 2011: I think this discussion is more religious than logical (although I can see some logic in it) As humans we all have a longing for eternal happiness, yet we can't. We want to be happy, but we should remember to live a good life on Earth so we can have eternal life with Jesus in heaven. We feel happy best when we help others. (this is the religious part)
For the logic, I think it depends on the person on the way they try to be happy. Some people just feel a need to be kind to people while others are selfish and don't want to share. Its just human nature. (i'm not really sure, but this is what I think)
  • A comment on Conversation: What is your response to what is happening in Japan right now?

Mar 15 2011: I want to start a fundraiser to help Japan. Although Japan has lots of money, unlike Hati, I think we should give Japan money since their earthquake was very drastic. Japan deserves all the support from the U.S. and I would be proud to help them. My family and I have kept Japan in our prayers and all of you should tool
  • A comment on Conversation: Why can humans, without any prior planning, naturally synch in rhythm and music but if you tell a group to all move together, they can't?

Mar 15 2011: Sometimes people can just feel the music. It just come naturally.
  • A comment on Conversation: At what age could students abandon a general education and enter an immersion-type education in a field of their interest?

Mar 15 2011: I think that although we should get educated in all subjects, we are also thinking about which collages we want to apply to so we can do the job or jobs we want to do. Maybe around 12th grade, students should get the normal subjects (reading, math, science, social studies, ect) taught at school for half of the normal school day, BUT for the other half of the day, (this is NOT extra curriculum) students would go to special classes that specialize in teaching students how to do certain jobs. This could help because that way students can get a better idea of which job they want to do before collage in case they may change they're mind about what job they can do. This can also help a student because he or she would be more motivated at school if they have a specific job they've always wanted to do and they can get more experience at school. BTW I'm only in 5th grade!! :3
