A comment on Conversation: Who is your Everyday Hero?
Six weeks ago we got a new patient: a mammy possum with 11 babies. A dog hurt her. The vet shaved a quarter of her body, sutured her wound and put her upper body in a wicked bandage. She was not able to move or eat but patiently let her babies crawl all over her and fed them all the time. A few weeks passed and she slowly got better. The babies grew up and went ahead to check out the world ☺. She stayed behind because she needs just a little more time to recover, but she has her winter coat on now and looks like a star to me ☺
Today I saw this topic about who is your every day hero, and I could not stop thinking about this mommy possum and how graciously and lovingly she moved through a life challenge. Yes, she is my hero.
