I am interested in using the power of word to make a change from sustainable living and building being an interesting idea to "the right thing to do". As a given in American culture. I am exploring the ways to make this shift within a generation. Through education, example, statistics of proven results, and econmic sense.
Coordinated urban agriculture, suatainable building materials and architecture, changing city and county building code, healthy eating and lifestyle, filmmaking and film production.
Persuasive communication and negotiation. Visual asthetics. Minimalism using form and function as the guideline. Being a tolerant and empathetic problem solver. Hard working and result oriented.
I volunteered with the first TEDx Tucson orgnaizers because they wanted their talk to be around sustainability and green technology/ innovation in the our community. I have event planning experience and wanted to meet and be apart of the excitement that TED talks generate. I now want to take that successful event to the next level by organizing and generating an action plan for change. We live in a unique and delicate desert ecosystem. Survival in the desert means conservation of resources as a given. Changing our attitude to one of consumption to working with the stengths and weaknesses of this climate will create better living and economic conditions as well as preserve the special place Tucson is.
