An idea worth spreading

This is small potatoes I know.......I've been trying to think of a creative way to start a campaign against littering in NYC. The problem is most predominant in lower income areas. One idea that has received good feedback: Volunteers that donate 1hour per month, cleaning streets and parks in their neighborhood. In return, these volunteers get big discounts at local businesses in the same neighborhood. I have received pretty good reception from business owners in Wash heights and Bronx. The problem is, this only treats the symptom and not the disease. If you have any other ideas I would love to chat!

• A comment on Conversation: Are there any recognized Atheist organizations currently involved in any social aid, amnesty groups, hunger relief efforts etc...?
