Animals, the environment, energy, conservation. I am particularly interested in responsible construction practices which encourage and create less dependance on non-renewable resources.

An idea worth spreading

Green construction is great but it only deals with new homes which are a small percentage of the homes in the US. If we could focus more on existing homes and their inefficiencies I would think that far more conservation of resources could be attained. By focusing on governmental incentives through rebate programs and tax breaks we can encourage existing homes that are incredibly inefficient to upgrade and be more efficient.. New homes that are not green are much more energy efficient than old homes for the most part and their old technologies and construction practices.

  Mar 2 2011: doing something nice for somebody else; knowing you positively affected someone else.

• A comment on Conversation: We spend 3 billion hours a week as a planet playing videogames. Is it worth it? How could it be MORE worth it?

  Mar 2 2011: Interesting. Is it an addiction? What are the statistics for those who are game so much; is there a commonality such as an inability to moderate. Do these same people have the same "extremeness" when it comes to other actions and endeavors? Do they posses a greater focus. I think it is like a drug to some in that it lets them escape reality. If I had kids I would certainly be worried about it.
