Since 2004, I’ve been working at the intersection of IBM’s strategic communications frontiers and emerging technology trends such as social computing, 3D/virtual innovations, the internet of things and mobile communications, including augmented reality.
As leader of social media for IBM’s consulting organization, Global Business Services, I've been advancing IBM's Smarter Planet agenda, focus on business analytics and the evolution of "the social business" through several projects. Our Smarter Planet site on Tumblr curates news, trends, insights and links that reflect the evolution of the world's systems. The SmarterCities Scan is a multimedia collaborative intelligence project on building a planet of smarter cities. And The Social Business site focuses on how organizations can transform themselves through social technologies.
Smartphone users can find The Smarter Planet and The Social Business apps in the Apple App Store, Android Market, Blackberry App World as well as via GetJar.
We've also just launch a new version of the IBM Global Business Services Virtual Center: a 3D space designed to serve as a living laboratory we'll be exploring is the convergence of physical and digital systems that Augmented and Mixed Reality are harbingers of. You can visit it at http://www.ibm.com/gbs/avc
