Andrea Alfano Posted about 3 years ago Why don't people believe in God? There are plenty of possibilities. Infinite possibilities, actually. As Richard Dawkins said in his talk on militant atheism (which you should certainly watch if you have not already) the burden of proof is not on me as a nonbeliever, it is on the believers. It is absurd to expect everyone to believe in every possibility unless they can absolutely rule it out. Sure, I could burn in hell for not being a good Christian. Or maybe all the Christians will be captured by a giant nematode-like creature and put on a hostile planet in a distant galaxy where Nickelback is played constantly everywhere and all surfaces are covered in thumbtacks. As far as I'm concerned, these two possibilities are equally likely.
