  • A reply on Talk: George Papandreou: Imagine a European democracy without borders

6 days ago: we need to be very carefull with the words we use. any ELECTED coverment in greece we can say that it is a choice that people mayde so it is not aceptable to say that anybody cheated. there are countries that today are sufering because their politicians cheate in the voting. so please do not use that word, it is an insult for countries that even today have dictatores in office. all the other arguments that you write are acceptable and debatable. i say that '' if he was successfull or not is still on debate. ''. But if you think back you can see that he never wanted the IMF, the IMF was in a way forced to greece from the E.U. ( or to be more correct from MERKEL). I remember him asking for a EUROPIAN help. The eurobonds that everybody is saying that is going to be a good solution, it was papandreou the first one or at least the one that a heard it from, but again the europe did not agree. And if you look what happend in cyprus or what is going on in greece right now we can not say that this is his fault. I am not saying that he did not made any mistakes but i can not say that he did not try. if you look carefully they are trying to put ALL the blame in one man. and it is very convinient for all to do that. SAMARAS and VENIZELOS they were both at some point opponents to Papandreou. both of them wanted his chairs.
and now to the basic point i do not think that a prime minister can go every once in a whille and ask the people what to do. it is expensive, inefficient and it looks that he has no idea what he is doing. we elect our prime minisers to make some choises for us. and we vote the ones that we think are the best for the job. nobody can know what is going to happen.lets say that happens a big natural dissaster or some kind of apocalypse, what are we going to do have election again because we need somebody else to tells us a diferent plan for everything that comes in our way.when you vote you choose the one that you trust to make the best possible choises for you.

6 days ago: not it is not lossing its prestige .......we can not block opinions or chances for somebody to explain what happend. we need to be open. and do not forget that he was elected. if he was successfull or not is still on debate. and i just want to point out that his goverment fell apart when he asked (or a least tried to ask) the PEOPLE what they want. so before you judge based on the information that you had from the media ask your self first, if anybody in the history has failled because he said, Hey maybe i have to ask my people wtat they want!!!!
