More About Me

I'm passionate about

discovering new horizons, connecting with people who are different than I am, finding out who we are and how we came to be here...sailing:)

An idea worth spreading

Volunteer effort is one of the most simple and efficient ways in which each and every individual can open the doors to a positive change for the society he or she lives in. Time is our most cherished and irreplaceable resource and the act of giving it freely is something which changes us profoundly. Volunteering increases the social network of an individual and brings us closer to the Other in this ever diminishing world of ours. It has an astounding capability of reconciling the Egoist with the Altruist which can be found inside all of us, for as we work for the betterment of another, we inevitably wind up being better off than we were when we started.

A comment on Conversation: What inspires loyalty within the organizations you work with?

May 6 2012: Management which recognizes that WHAT we achieve (reflected in quarterly reports, profits, clients - things you can measure and put a number to) must not whipe out the importance of HOW we came to do it (sharing responsibility in decision making, creating an environment in which people feel they are a valuable part of the process, that their opinion matters - therefore, things which are difficult to quantify and chart).

A reply on Talk: Brené Brown: The power of vulnerability

Jan 29 2011: Thank you, Birdia:) I stumble upon bits and pieces of Laozi's wisdom here and there but you just nudged me towards taking up the Tao Te Ching in the integral form! I find it amazing how the proverbial ''East'' meets its ''Western'' counterpart in many an unexpected field. Psychology and psychotherapy being one which I find most inspirational. Best wishes:)
