  • A comment on Conversation: Is the idea of 'practical wisdom' is to provide maximum good to all people or maximum good to large number of people with still some left?

Apr 24 2011: Thank you Krisztian Pinter for your reply. I do agree with you. However, how to universalize the phenomenon of practical wisdom? Do we have a single solution or multiple solutions? if multiple solutions are available and if they are diagrammatically opposite to each other how to deal with them?

Apr 18 2011: Dear Judith, How much we can be cruel towards this excellent scientist; tell me one frame where she has shown the characteristics you portray her? Has she not given a good exposition on the monkeys? what do you expect in a short period? It is unfair, gender biased comments given by you. I am sorry to be rude with you.
  • A reply on Conversation: Who is a great teacher?

Apr 17 2011: There is no doubt about it Erik. Is it possible to use Socratic method in the class. Do we have time for it?
  • A reply on Conversation: Who is a great teacher?

Apr 17 2011: Dear Lee, I agree with you. Sir Ken Robinson did made me think and give shape to my own anguish of not being able to deliver what i am supposed to.
  • A reply on Conversation: Who is a great teacher?

Apr 17 2011: I think Erik, He does put forth his point of view; I do not think it is entertaining~ Of course it is presented in a fun way but the seriousness can be realized by everyone of us. What in your opinion should be the alternative view for the same?
  • A reply on Conversation: Who is a great teacher?

Apr 17 2011: Dear Scott Armstrong, Thanks for your posting. However, Do great teachers make you think and encourage questions and feel not at all ashamed to say that he does not know the answer. Is it possible to do it in a class and still have the respect of students? In my opinion if a teacher will be more respected if he or she says that he needs time to answer.
  • A reply on Conversation: Who is a great teacher?

Apr 17 2011: Dear Tom Comerford. Thanks for posting and pointing out the most important role of teacher~ to help students develop critical-thinking skills. Please watch these two videos.

However, I really do not know how to approach the problem of given syllabus ( as in India) and the teacher is supposed to deliver the same, with least deviations and for examinations. Any thoughts?
