A reply on Talk: Dan Pallotta: The way we think about charity is dead wrong

Mar 31 2013: Dan has written two books that are thoroughly vetted and researched as was his talk. Perhaps before you make faulty assumptions about his data you ought to read the source material.

It seems you have thoroughly missed the point of his talk. Why should people trying to save the world be asked to "sacrifice" while those selling booze and guns can make money hand over fist and be applauded. If we were half as eager to applaud and compensate people trying to end cancer and feed the hungry we may have more quality people working toward those ends and find ourselves rid of such plagues. Instead we live in an anachronistic puritanical society that still thinks that the "good" must suffer as such so much misery persists.
