A reply on Talk: Amy Purdy: Living beyond limits

Nov 27 2011: She has not just cried out her private problem but shown how to cope with it. Illness, depression and loss of both legs are neither a minor life issue nor a private problem people use to PR themselves.

Her life gives an excellent proof of her idea: 'our imaginations can be used as tools for breaking through boarders; because in our minds we can do anything and we can be anything. It's not about breaking down boarders, it's about pushing off of them.'

Good talk Amy! What seems to us as bitter trials are often blessings in disguise /Oscar Wilde/

A reply on Conversation: What are the reasons that we long for progeny?

Nov 16 2011: Sounds great Debra!

Would be great if all women could experience motherhood the way you've described.
  • A reply on Conversation: What are the reasons that we long for progeny?

Nov 14 2011: 'A society that permits almost anyone to become a parent and then almost completely ignores how these parents provide ( or do not provide!) for the emotional and intellectual needs of their children — deserves to perish.'

Absolutely! Many a people who have kids just take it for granted! No mystery, no divinity... Besides they expect school/uni or whoever to be responsible for the upbringing/education of their offspring.
  • A reply on Conversation: What are the reasons that we long for progeny?

Nov 14 2011: This urge might be very selfish at times - couples begin to long for children when the excitement of their relationship is gone, single women give birth in order to escape loneliness and gay.. Who knows why gay want kids?

Why is this desire so overwhelming? Is it an uncontrollable genetic code?
  • A reply on Conversation: What are the reasons that we long for progeny?

Nov 14 2011: What if it turns into a whim? Must wrong to want children just because other people have them, your parents want grandchildren or you just want to experience something new!

A reply on Conversation: Is our destiny to be one world with one language?

Aug 11 2011: Totally agree, since language is not a mere system of communication for humans, animals also have their sounds for communication, but only people managed to develop it into something more than just exchange of sounds in order to understand each other's needs. Language is a complex phenomena, language is art because it takes a genius to use it efficiently. The languages we speak reflect the culture and mentality where we belong.. We are so different and it's great! On refusing from native languages and acquiring a global one we would lose our identity turning this world into a boring place of clones.
