Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala: Aid versus trade
I disagree with Africa borrowing from Western democracy. I think that this is precisely the reason we are where we are in the first place. For Africa to move forward we need to take the debate away from the pettiness of political ideology and focus more on governance; on governments actually delivering on their duty to ensure that every last child has access to clean water, adequate healthcare, shelter, education, a clean environment, and the opportunity to improve their lives. If Africa can move to this sort of governance, it is irrelevant what political system they use provided it ensures human dignity
