About Me

I am a second year MA student of Translation and Localization Management in Monterey Institute of International Studies. As a enthusiastic volunteer I have get myself involved in many projects in the field of social and political science.

As a part-time translator, I translated the subtitle of Wall Street---a documentary film produced by CCTV with my classmates. I feel confident that my proficiency in both languages and translation would transfer effectively to your organization.
Second, as the translation program manager, I organized our classmates to translate A Practical Guide for Translators, through which I get familiar with the translation process, type-setting and quality-control. I strictly followed the principles set by FIT.
Third, as a volunteer of Beijing Multilingual Service Center and International Exchange Association of BFSU, I learnt good interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from different national and cultural backgrounds, planning and organizing, to coordinate one’s own work plan and meet deadlines as
well as accountability and client Orientation.
Forth, I have a great deal of experience working with people from other cultural communities. The cultural empathy and sensitivity I acquired when I work as a volunteer in Beijing Multilingual Service Center will fit me in the working environment of UN Headquarters.
Fifth, I’m conversant with Microsoft Office Suite and the multi-media equipment (typing, filling, word processing, data entry, type-setting, and book-keeping).

My TED Story

This summer vocation, a friend recommended TED to me. I’m very passionate about speeches and talks shows. The first time I open the website of TED, I told myself this was what I’m looking for years. I was so excited to found the TED Open Translation Project and I decide to be one of the translators right away. It’s my dream to put my talents in something important and productive.
