Oct 16 2011: I teach an international curriculum (the diploma programme from IBO) in Serbia, so your assumption is correct. =)

A reply on Conversation: The discussion of human death in school curricula, particularly Science.

Oct 16 2011: James, that's exactly what I did, too. I'm curious, though. Is there a formal state/national standard where this is found? Or is it a persona/class interest that motivated this topic? Because it is formally absent from the DP Biology curriculum which I teach.

A comment on Talk: Steve Keil: A manifesto for play, for Bulgaria and beyond

Jun 15 2011: Education for the sake of 'academic goals' (or as Sir Ken Robinson brilliantly put it, for the purposes of creating university professors) is not a luxury of the eastern block countries. It is surprisingly refreshing to see the increasing amount of young, innovative talent here in Serbia who is breaking this age-old 'serious meme'. I have been finding that as we curate the speaker lineup for TEDxYouth@ISB in Belgrade, and every day we unfold new, inspiring ideas.

Once there is an established 'happy customer, happy business' culture in the balkans, there's no telling what their contributions to the world will be, both economically and in terms of talent and innovation.

By the way, it's excellent to see a TEDxTalk from this region on TED.com!

A comment on Conversation: How will you take part in JR's TED Prize wish?

Mar 8 2011: I'd really like to stand up against hooliganism in soccer/football stadiums. There have been several incidents here in Belgrade, some of which have received major international coverage, which I am still looking for ideas on how to explore using JR's project.
  • A comment on Conversation: What about TED-based clubs in schools? TED-based classes?

Mar 6 2011: I love it because so many TEDTalks go beyond (and across) disciplines. It would be a nice break from the subject-specific day most students go through.
  • A comment on Talk: Carl Honore: In praise of slowness

Dec 4 2010: Too bad SlowArt didn't make the list. Very cool movement: http://www.slowartday.com/
