I am a student at Wayne State University in Detroit, working toward a bachelor's degree in communication and eventually a master's in Library and Information Science. I love Detroit, and stay involved by volunteering at the Detoit Public Library's Teen Center and Makerspace and with several autism advocacy groups, editing my university's paper, interning with the Detroit Symphony, and helping to organize the annual TEDxDetroit conference. I also love glitter, mod podge, and pretty string.
finding and sharing knowledge with everyone I meet.
crafting, museums, libraries, history, the last good book you read, autism, Detroit, and your special interest - I want to know what you want to teach me.
When I first got involved with TED in Detroit, I talked about it so much and in such high regard people thought I was dating someone named Ted. I left my first TEDxDetroit event inspired and excited about every opportunity I had heard about, and told everyone I met about the things I had learned from TED. The following winter, I was asked to join the TEDxDetroit board as the student coordinator, and have been involved since. I can't imagine what my life would be like without the constant inspiration from TED talks and attendees, the passion for our fields we all share, the good feeling I get when I match a TED talk to a person who needs the information, and the buzz in the air during a TED event.
