A reply on Talk: Diana Laufenberg: How to learn? From mistakes
Maybe you want to check out this talk: http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/ger/sugata_mitra_the_child_driven_education.html
Sugata Mitra shows how kids when given a task to solve together, in a small group, on their own, learn at a rather high speed and the learning proves to be persistent.
Key is that they engage in active learning at their own pace and are able to discuss it with each other.
I had a similar experience when studying. In some courses this concept was used. You can absorb quite an amount of information that way.
