The short version: Focused on aligning what I love with what I do each day to create fulfilling, sustainable value.
In more detail: I went to business school at the University of Michigan where I studied the correlation between storytelling and human potential using filmed interviews, portraiture, and live event data.
I'm currently editing a documentary for the Michigan Men's Glee Club, the second oldest collegiate choir in the country, cycling for the Wolverine Sports Club, and writing my second book, a series of essays on life from the lens of a recent college graduate.
Creating a positive impact on the world such that it's better than how I found it. In doing so, a key step is figuring out how to better hold on to the energy generated at events like a TED conference
Realizing our potential through reminders from our friends by acting on temporary inspiration through regular peer accountability.

Singing in an all-male chorus
It was January 2010 and the second semester of my freshman year of college was just getting underway. A friend invited me to join a group of eight other people around a couple small tables in the back of a coffee shop at 9:30 on a Saturday night. The topic was TED which, for all I knew at that point like so many others who are unsuspecting, was some notable guy I should learn more about. I'd soon some to discover the world of TED and spend my next three years organizing one of the earliest and, at the time, largest TEDx events, TEDxUofM. As a result of doing so, I've dedicated much of my extracurricular time to further research I began after the first conference on how similar spaces can have a lasting impact, rather than remain a "Positive Intentional Disruption" in attendees' lives.
