A reply on Talk: Luis von Ahn: Massive-scale online collaboration

Jan 16 2012: a) I didn't time the ten seconds, I took that presumption from the talk, but however long it takes to recognize and type one word, it will take longer for two.
    b) many thanks for the presumption that I "pay for bullshit" or "sign up for useless features" - I don't think I am the one with the issues here

A comment on Talk: Luis von Ahn: Massive-scale online collaboration

Dec 8 2011: 1. If now, to help digitize books (without even being asked if I am happy to do that or informed that I am doing it), I have to enter two words instead of one, doesn't that mean I waste even more than the ten seconds apparently needed for one word?!
    2. How exactly do you "combine the translations of multiple beginners to get a quality translation"? Who does that? Who proofreads your content and ensures the translation is correct? The "more advanced learners"?
    3. Yet another way of getting something for nothing for the likes of Google et.al. under the pretence of doing something good for the poor.
