About Roy Younghwan

Bio

My life could be much easier than now. I ran my own business, it went well and I had nothing to be jealous.
Just like any other cliche drama, "one day", my family had a car accident and I realized there were bigger and more important things than just being wealthy.
In such a suffer which came to me with no preview, I realized happiness for everyone, not just for me is the true happiness. And it should be more valued.
My sincere wish is all the people, with me in space and time wise, would be happy.
I live in a mid-sized city, Daejeon, Korea. Any other areas in Korea only except Seoul are having a sever "Local-Gap."
Economic, cultural and educational gap caused by the rapid growth of Korea directly resulted a heavy rich-poor gap.
It is one of the chronicle social problems of Korea that everyone already knows of well.
I am sure that these problems rooted in "gap" can be solved through TEDx, the new platform we welcomed happily.
It shall, of course, be started with smaller things, but I believe this movement of spreading worthy ideas can be the little "butterfly effect" making the first flap.
Social design for my local community, that's why I became a passionate TEDxer.

My TED story

As stated above,
My life could be much easier than now.
That time, I meet the TEDx
TEDxDaejeon is the first TEDx event hosted in Korea except for Seoul(capital of Korea).
Different from usual TEDx events in Korea which doesn't last more than a couple of times, I have been organizing TEDx for more than 4 years. (start from 2010)
I have been devoting for discovering potential of my community and turning it into sustainable culture.
