Rob Perhamus Posted over 1 year ago Peter Attia: Is the obesity crisis hiding a bigger problem? Odd, but true that I enjoy my Type II diabetes..just for me, but obviously not recommended for others. . If there was a blue pill and a red pill, where the red pill gave me diabetes type II, I wish I could have taken that red pill 30 years ago. At 56, I have dropped from 230 lbs to 165 lbs over the past year. For 30 years, I had consumed too much alcohol, and now, I simply stopped, just because, painlessly. The bottle still sits in the cupboard, untouched for a year. I have had 1 or 2 drinks at 2 social occasions, a few months ago. I no longer need to wear eye glasses for driving, nor reading that I needed for at least the last decade. My mind and body and energy continue to work better than ever. I eat when I feel like it, as much as I want, sometimes several times per day and other times just 1 or 2 times per day. My diet, is simple and diverse. I simply consume less fat and cholesterol. I do not watch any other measures of caloric input, or any other content. I have learned to cook, and love what I do eat, which includes more fruits, veggies, breads, cereals, with chicken every few days. My stats have dropped from 140/95 to 110/75 and heart BBP from 95 to 75. I walk some, but not as an exercise program, but simply to because I enjoy 20 minutes 2 or 3 times a week, or sometimes, just to get from here to there. I stopped taking any medications 3 months ago and all is stable, at least so far, but I continue to monitor weekly. Odd, huh. I guess everyone is different.
