About Me

Yiying is 2 characters in Chinese. 'Yi' means Happy; 'Ying' means Creative.
Born and Raised in Shanghai and Sydney. Educated in Sydney and London. Graduated with 1st Class Honors, Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication from the University of Technology, Sydney. Exchange study in Advertising, Illustration, Print and Pre-Press at Central St. Martins London.

Yiying is an artist, designer + digital content creator. Her work including the illustration Twitter 'Fail Whale', the Conan O'Brien 'Pale Whale', Beautiful Traps QR Code Art Project, 10 Most Intriguing in Fashion QR code Illustrationand SXSW 2012 Interactive Big Bag Art.

Exhibited in galleries and museums globally. First public exhibition of Wall Tangrams: Sydney Museum of Contemporary Art, 2010. Named Top 10 Emerging Leaders in Innovation from Microsoft The Australian 100. Winner of New York Shorty Award in Design. One Show Design Award Merit. Winner of Australian Desktop Create: Emerging Talent Award.

Yiying has done design and creative work for Conan O'Brien and Team Coco, Scholastic, SXSW, Twitter, Anna Sui New York, Sony Digital Japan, Maybelline, Saatchi & Saatchi, eBay, Getty Images, Glam Media, JWT, Pepsico, Gallery Bar NYC, Hotel des Arts SF, Surfrider Foundation, Shorty Awards, Nootie, ASDA UK, Optus, Smashing Magazine, University of Technology Sydney, McCann World Group, the Australian Trade Commission, the Nevada Development Authority and the Sydney Aquarium.

International Focus: Multilingual - Loves Languages (English, Japanese, Chinese Mandarin, Shanghainese).
