Barry Schwartz: Our loss of wisdom
12:30 - re. nuclear waste in the community. Wrong wrong wrong. What the incentive did was devalue the goal. Offering an incentive makes a person suspect that the offer is bad to the same degree that the incentive is good.

Brian Greene: Is our universe the only universe?
So let me see if I can piece a couple of things together. If an even field can have gravity be a push instead of a pull, then blotches of dark energy can have pushes that explain emptier spots in the universe. The edges of the dark energy would have more regular gravidic forces, causing less push or perhaps attraction, explaining the filament-like structures we can see with galaxies. (if I recall correctly) -- Also, what happens when the force of the push goes very _very_ fast? Could the push tear the structure of galaxies or even particles apart? If the field of dark energy is itself expanding then that's one thing, but if the field of dark energy isn't expanding at all or at the same rate, then things could get interesting at the boundaries. If multiple patches of dark energy exist, then they and their somewhat-entrapped galaxies could interact in fun ways. -- Lastly, a multiverse and a collision / interaction with another universe could explain why we seem to have less antimatter, and why the big bang coalesced/"flattened" into galaxies etc instead of being perfectly consistent.

James Randi: Homeopathy, quackery and fraud
It's unfortunate that James has been censored from ted. His previous talks were removed from the records. Until this video here was put up, he was entirely purged as a speaker! I hope this one stays. I wonder if anyone out there has the old ted talks. I've seen some of them, but I didn't download them before whatever force threatened ted to get James' works pulled.

Brian Cox: CERN's supercollider
> Big Crunch, that lead to the BB, that's what we are heading back to. No, the Big Crunch hypothesis was shattered some time ago. The universe has been observed to be expanding and accelerating.
