M.A. in English and Politics from the University of Freiburg, Germany, and the University of Aberdeen, Scotland.
M.A. thesis: „Political language und semantic change – Tony Blair and New Labour 1994 – 2003“.

2005-2008: Research assistant and lecturer in English Linguistics at the University of Hamburg, Germany.

2005-today: Research assistant and lecturer in English Linguistics and language practice at the University of Bamberg, Germany.

PhD in English linguistics on "Interrogative constructions in varieties of English". Expected in 2013.
Research focus: Smaller English varieties in European (pen)insulas (Malta, Gibraltar, Channel Islands).
Main areas of research: Language contact and language acquisition, English as a world language, applied linguistics, translation.
