A comment on Conversation: Should we have a separate page for Translation activity updates

Jul 30 2011: Its a good idea and it will just need some modification in pages as there is already separate page for all language with list of all translated talks and translators of that language. For example http://www.ted.com/translate/languages/hin this page is for hindi. However from this page we can not go to page where current activities are listed.

To go there we have to go like this My Translation->Find more talks to translate->select your langauge and then in that page you get drop down option ..Available for translation, Translation in progress, Published. Again there you dont get details who is translating who is reviewing

So it will be good if we can access these details from that language page itself

A comment on Conversation: If you woke up today and money ceased to exist, what is the first thing you would do? Why?

Jul 23 2011: I think the day money ceased to exist first thing I’ll do is I’ll go back to my village that to free of cost. Free not because airlines or trains will provide free services but because I have to travel by walk or by cycle all the way 1000 miles as with money most of the means of transportation will also ceased to exist. I’ll not be able to buy food so only option will be to grow it so I’ll setup my farmland and start growing crops. My kids will not go to school to learn how to live in materialistic world so we’ll have plenty of time together enjoying and learning how to live in this beautiful world. I’ll not need to buy precious gifts for my wife to show my love because she’ll get what she always demanded even after getting those gifts and that is me. I’ll be always be with her with my family and I think it’ll be the happiest time of my life.....But that's just a dream in reality if money ceased to exist first thing any one will do it to recreate it :-)

A comment on Conversation: TED Translator Certificate for the volunteer translators. Our CV would love it.

Jun 19 2011: A voluntary work means something done willingly and without constraint or expectation of reward.I completely agree with Matthieu Miossec if that will be the case eventually people will start it doing only for their CVs . We can mention it in our CV and for prove we can show them our translated TED talk which will actually demonstrate our work in better way.

I Just completed translation of TED Talk Terry Moore: How to tie your shoes and at the end there was one very good line "sometimes a small advantage someplace in life can yield tremendous results someplace else" So lets keep doing good work and one day it will definitely yield some tremendous results someplace in life :-)

    Mar 4 2011: Nice talk!!

Egyptian revolution is one of the greatest achievements of 21st century. With unity and non violence once again it was proved by Egypt that “Power of the people is much stronger than people in power” I salute to Egypt and Egyptians
