I'm just a normal man who loves science, the wonders of nature and video gaming. I was born in Norway, but have lived in Germany for five years (2k-2k5). I play in a drone band called Pirahã (named after the godless Amazonian tribe discovered in Brazil. Our music is inspired by Black Sabbath, Kyuss, Jethro Tull and Black Label Society. I really don't know what else to write about. I'm not all that interesting, to me at least I'm not.
An idea worth spreading
The scientific method is a powerful meme. It has withstood the test of time so far, but will only continue if continue to spread it. It can be done easily on a "grassroots level". Introduce your kids to science by taking them to the museum. Inspire people by telling them awesome facts about science that you pick up. Watch popular culture that endorses science, like QI, Blue Planet, Planet Earth, Mythbusters, Bullsh!t or Carl Sagans Cosmos and share them with your peers. It's easy to spread a little science around you and there is no excuse not to.
I'm passionate about
See "Talk to me about"
Talk to me about
Science, atheism (product of a scientific approach to religion.), solving the climate crisis (by science) and video games (brought to you by science). YEAH! Oh, and bacon (product of tasty evolution).
People don't know I'm good at
Writing fiction is all I can think of.
My TED story
I found TED on YouTube and was enthralled and inevitably a little enlightened. I love TED and watch it as often as I can. I'm dreading the day that I am up to date and it's approaching faster than I would like it to. Make more talks, quickly!
I like translating so I'm trying to translate some of the talks. You should try it if you have the time :)
