    Oct 31 2010: The question you ask is completely besides the point. What is addressed here seems to point at how one's cultural values contain truth, particularly without modernity or non-traditional cultures imposing values upon these expressions of truth. This doesn't deny the truth about how knowing about germs saves from disease either, but asking this type of question imposes another cultures values upon the ones discussed here. And that's why we call it anthropology, not commentary.
