My TED Story

My roommate Kwan, Korean show me this website. We usually show to each other about something innovation and something new and impressive us. One time, we talked about how information can transfer so quickly nowadays and he take one example is TED. From that day, I used this website as my life textbook.

  Jan 6 2011: It's really interesting and valuable presentation for me. I am thinking about making a website to help college student can get cheapest textbook as they can. And I can use this ideas in my own work. This talk showed how it work, how it can success and solutions for credibility.

  A comment on Talk: Arianna Huffington: How to succeed? Get more sleep

  Jan 6 2011: Sleep can create productivity and more creative, it's not really new knowledge. But I expected some datas and evidence about it. Maybe because the limitation of the time so she couldn't show it, but at least she can show some studies which show it or some examples.
  
  But overall, I love the way she presented her topic, it's funny and go directly to the topic.

• A comment on Talk: Mitchell Joachim: Don't build your home, grow it!

  Jul 12 2010: It is really great idea for the sustainable grow of the world economic. But I just wonder that the stability of the house. Some of his example is just small house. And he didn't mention much about the strength of the material, so what happen if we want to "grow" 2nd floor and 3rd floor...
  Beside that I thinks this kind of house more suitable for hotel and tourism industry rather than household.

  Jun 21 2010: So wonderful and interesting talk. In both marketing class and management class or macroeconomic class , I studied about intangible value for business company, and professors said it is more important, but truly we didn't ask ourself how we create it and measure it. This topic raise really question about it.

  Jun 20 2010: I missed something is too interesting. It was post in 2007 and now is 2010. Just few weeks ago, my professor discussed in class where is the opportunity place to invest, we talked about China, Vietnam, Asian... but no one talked about Africa, even if we talked about Africa, I have no ideas. Until now, after this speech, I knew more about Africa, not only their weakness but also their strength and opportunity.
  Her speech was so impressed me, It is the best speech which I watched within this week

  A comment on Talk: John Underkoffler: Pointing to the future of UI

  Jun 18 2010: It really not something new, I knew about it before and I know that now Microsoft is currently develop this technology also. But the issue is cost, how much it cost for projector, and other stuffs to make a Ui become popular in real life.
  This is future of UI and he said it will come out next 5 year, I really hope that project and together with other company, such as Microsoft with Kinect now can make it come true in 2015.

  Jun 18 2010: This is really interesting clip to me, these guys have to plan so crazy to have this kind of machine. Personally, I think it tells us what important of planing and teamwork, because without it, this seam to be impossible.
  Sometime, a big successful thing comes from many small things, right?

  A comment on Talk: Ananda Shankar Jayant fights cancer with dance

  Jun 18 2010: Although I thought I will not surprise when I see she dance since in my country, vietnam, there are some kinds of also traditional dance like that. But when I saw she was dancing, it is so powerful and inspiring me, especially she can draw while dancing like that.
  She is right when dancing, or more generally is art or anything, which you are passion about, can help people who has cancer can stand up and fight with it. And dancing is one way to give her more motivation, emotion and strength to believe in life. Hope that she always be happy like that.

  A comment on Talk: Cameron Herold: Let's raise kids to be entrepreneurs

  Jun 18 2010: And the end of the talk, he mention about how to grow the kid about entrepreneur. He mention that we should teach kids how to make money, but I think it is not good when teach them like that. Beside that, not all the kid want to become a business man, some want to be an artist, some want to be volunteer for society. It is better to grow them how to live as a good person and tech them about knowledge, not only money and business. And when them grow, they will choose their jobs. If they want to be entrepreneur, help them to grow, not teach them.
