Dorly Neto, 21, poet and student of Social Communication. At 14 I started doing voluntary works, giving the Portuguese TAs help in the School of Education of Youth and Adult. In the same year, I decided to do a technical course Mechatronics. In three years I attended, which expanded my horizons to the relation of technology with human beings. Then, upon entering college, I decided to study Public Relations, because the course included Philosophy, Sociology, Aesthetics, Political Economy and many other matters of great interest to me. I worked in a web-newspaper called SRZD, after I worked at Jornal Lance, the largest sports newspaper in Latin America, also I was a volunteer in the NGO called CDI and in social circus Crescer e Viver. I have also wrote theater reviews for the web-magazine Almanaque Virtual. In this middle term, I volunteered in TEDxSP and TEDxSudeste, and dedicated myself to TEDTranslator. Nowadays I work as Pontiff (who builds bridges) in Benfeitoria, a crowdfunding-startup focused in realization of transformative projects.
I seek a radical revolution in human consciousness, which is responsible for making us human beings who play, create and dialogue in an integrated manner, without fear.
Everyone realizes that something is wrong with mankind. I look at the world and I see comparison, competition, conformity, apathy, violence and all that we know. From where all this come from? What is the origin of human suffering? We have evolved so much technologically, but what about psychologically? We are still brutal, comparators and competitors, rather of cooperators. Therefore, it is necessary to penetrate the core of the problems and cause a radical change. That's my aim. Only united we can change the world, but you need an individually revolution.
In playing tennis, doing juggling and inspire people through dialogue.
I started my direct relationship with TED through of TEDxSãoPaulo, the first TEDx event in Brazil. I knew the event two days after the registration is closed! So I asked to be a volunteer, and I was able going in condition to take care of digital communication on the day of the event. Therefore, I loved the lectures and the people I met there, also I met Leonardo Eloi, the host of TEDxSudeste and I turned volunteer in this one too. Today I'm a TEDTranslator and I am looking other ways to spread the TED culture in mankind through internet and other events.

A comment on Conversation: How can we encourage mainstream media coverage of Israeli and Palestinian nonviolence leaders?
So, first of all, I'd like to congratulate you for your job which shows the true meaning of non-violence. Unfortunately, the mainstream media are ruled by other values, because who depends of advertising are not interested in these issues.
The solution is to reach people through other means, such as the Internet and social networking. With a sexy approach, it is possible to get people to force the agenda of the mainstream media.
What would you think about this?
Thank you for the opportunity to dialogue.

A comment on Conversation: Is the urge to create art a universal human quality, or did a group of people 'invent' it (say, prior to humans leaving Africa)?
I think there is an innate curiosity in human beings. However, we have evolved little psychologically since the time of caves. Technologically we have had an impressive developments, but we are still brutal, comparators and competitors, with a slight refinement in the form of language. Art is a way to evolve psychologically, but this will require the end of fear and the beginning of cooperation.
Best regards,
Dorly Neto
