My TED story

What is our society lacking? Why is it faltering? What are we missing? Let's start with the basics of what we really want and expect out of our lives. Truth. Honesty. Being safe. Standing up for ourselves and others. Why does Superman still have such an iconic place in America? Truth, justice and the American way! So tell me now, when a good person exposes a bad person doing bad things, what is the POSITIVE term for that person? Narc? Snitch? Tattletale? Let's start changing our society. Expose the bullies, expose the liars, cheaters, dishonest people. Let's sound off on those people. Let's sound off and expose bad people doing bad things and be REWARDED and Acknowledged for doing the right thing. SOUNDERS are people who expose bad people doing bad things. SOUNDERS! Changing the world ~ for GOOD!

Meaghan Ramsey: Why thinking you're ugly is bad for you
Thank you Meaghan! As a person who speaks on Bullying I truly appreciated your talk. I am in a constant state of sharing self-empowerment and how to deal with the attitudes that make a conducive atmosphere for bullying. I teach people of all ages how not to accept bullying and how to deal with it's affects. My greatest area that I try to involve are parents of course and how they need to teach their chilgren to be strong emotionally so the bullies aren't going to have as big an impact on them. And how their strength, I call it Mental Prosperity, will bring them through such encounters showing others how a strong character will put the bullies in their place. I would love to connect with you on ideas and blogs. Many blessings~ Steve Sapato http://bullyingfordummies.blogspot.com

Have a good term for good people exposing bad people doing bad things. SOUNDER
Ah.. Colleen~ this is not about labeling them.. we are simply establishing a new pattern of terminology that says we need a new term that REWARDS people for being upstanding citizens, taking responsibility back, accepting their part in this society by insuring that anyone doing the wrong/bad things should be exposed for what they have done. I know who I am when I steal, I know who I am when I take a bribe. I know who I am when I lie or cheat.... all I want is for America to be able to be proud of standing up and exposing the things that are wrong! and the people perpetuating them.

Have a good term for good people exposing bad people doing bad things. SOUNDER
Sweet tip!! Thank you Colleen! I 100% agree that we are ALL capable of change. Those who want and are looking for a change can accept it. It is what my programs are always about. Mental Prosperity is all about changing you by changing your mind, thoughts, actions and it is all inside of us already. We just haven't tapped into it yet. I am 100% changed from the boy I was at 28 and probably from the man I was at 50. Thanks for your help and input. Is there such a thing as 'follow' what you post or share?

Have a good term for good people exposing bad people doing bad things. SOUNDER
The interesting comments I see here are a complete travesty of the human condition. We want people to do the right things. We want the "whistle blower" out of Washington to come forward and expose the secret arms of the government. We don't want shoplifting and theft or murder and crime to run amok but when we talk about 'exposing' the bad people doing bad things, many of you who have replied seem set on the negative happenings of Sounding Off. How will our world change for the good if we perceive with fear that all who will expose others are bad people, or JUDAS? For goodness sakes... those should not even be part of our conversation. What we need are positive people who share with other positive people positive things and when we find negative people, people who do have things to hide doing bad things we should definitely expose those who are doing bad things. How on earth will we change our world to become a good place if we fear exposure, if we fear the honest person doing the right thing. This is not Salem, MA in the 'good ole days' of witch hunting and lying. We should fear the darkness not the light of exposure.

Ken Robinson: How to escape education's death valley
I am amazed how poor our education in America truly is! I taught college speech for 7 years and ALL of the "3rd" world nation students who came could speak at least three languages well enough to get by. Americans after two-four years of language can't speak it at all!!! The same is true of history, those students new American history better then our students? Why? We lack imagination in our teaching. We are more concerned with how they will TEST then how much they learn. Atlanta schools just proved that... get the TEST forget the kids. Our education system is run much like our Government.. and we need to change that hierarchy. Teach our people because they get a passion from us .. show them why and let them learn~

Shane Koyczan: To This Day ... for the bullied and beautiful
Yes.. I talk on bullying but from a new perspective... there are words for people who tell on others... narc, snitch, tattletale.. all bad words that don't make us proud to be them. But we need to change the world and we will do that by changing that term. What is the positive word for a good person exposing a bad person doing bad things? There isn't one... but when someone sounds off about such things they should be revered! Proud! they sounded off and they should be called SOUNDERS! A Sounder is someone who exposes bad people doing bad things... Sounders~ changing the world... for good.

Isabel Allende: Tales of passion
I think any time we take offense we lose effectiveness. If you want to listen, disagree, put forth your own opinion... then by all means see if you can persuade people with the quality, emotion and facts of your argument but to belittle, call names or be obnoxious in your rebuttle only makes one look small. Please believe that the TED intelligence manifests in the wide range of speakers they allow to offer their topics and the diverse nature of all that is available.
