About Me

With over twenty-five years of professional experience in private practice as a registered architect, Quentin operates an architectural office specialized in high-end, custom designs. Located in Long Beach California, our commissions range from mid-sized commercial buildings to exclusive, single family residences. Currently we are working in conceptual design for an efficient, sustainable, 150,000 sqft. hotel commercial complex in the Mojave desert, applying the latest PV and wind turbine technology.

A majority of Archwork commissions are located in Southern California, with a few projects in Florida, Vermont, New York and South Carolina, as well as completed residences in Singapore and Europe. Quentin is N.C.A.R.B. licensed and accredited to practice architecture internationally.
In 1990, Quentin was selected as the “1990 Dream House Architect” for L.A. WEST Magazine. In other commissions he applied green technology in design development of highly efficient, low-cost housing, Foam Domes© using poly-isocyanurate compounds with epoxy-resin based shells to create low-impact shelters. This was followed by the The Qube House, a design concept establishing an innovative fast-track, Type V construction methods with prefabrication of composite construction systems for California’s geologically challenging sites. In 2005 Quentin developed a design for a component-built (16 week) 2,420 sq.ft., loft-style vacation home, Domo Vitae.

More About Me

I'm passionate about

Earth
Good design
Less talk -more action
intelligence, succinctly
brevity of expression
synergistic anything
hope and desire

An idea worth spreading

Here’s to the crazy ones,
the misfits,
the rebels,
the troublemakers,
the round pegs in the square holes,
the ones who see things
differently.

They are not fond of rules
and they have no respect
for the status quo.
You can quote them,
disagree with them,
glorify or
villify them.

About the only thing you can’t do
is ignore them,
because they change things,
they push the human race
forward.
And while some may see them
as the crazy ones,
we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough
to think they can change the world
are the ones who do.

Think differently.

My TED Story

We need more time
to help disseminate
and synergize what TED is.
We simply do not have enough
minutes in the day
to get the things done
which need to be completed
in symposia.

  • A comment on Conversation: No one will EVER contact us, SETI is our special human version of vanity

Jul 7 2012: Agreed, our understanding of the universe is limited. Not about polluting, but about reference.

Tied in as temporal beings, the thresholds we address are not clearly understood. See Kurzweil, Singularity stuff, Brian Greene, The Universe is NOT elegant, it just is... no multiverses, total NONSENSE.. We know WHAT we look for. That is what's wrong with all our theories. We are still overwhelmingly defined by ignorance on our sciences..

The universe is intelligent, by its mechanism. however we cannot understand this because of our limitations of current knowledge and technological development. We'll never get the time 'concept' right because we are dimensionally defined by this. Broadening our understanding for curiosity sake does NOT justify certain expenditures. We do "have concepts" of what is needed to be addressed, and this- morally- should NOT be one of the criteria for selection to pursue.

Sep 30 2009: Great! Now instead of emulating physical form of evolution, let's go beyond this;. Make the arm, hand, fingers BETTER. More choicesThink beyond the box, DK. Give them a device(s) that works better than 21
