Dec 18 2010: I think that both the "Man Box", and whatever name you want to give to the code of behavior that many (not all!) women seem to adhere to (which forces them to want to be super models and things like that) are what cause this situation. You can't say that patriarchy was caused by women wanting to date aggressive guys, nor can you say that the latter caused the former, because they were caused by a third set of behavior, and that is being monkeys millions of years ago!!
I say that both these codes of behavior are counterproductive and should be changed, not that braking million year old habits would be easy, but I see lot's of people around me doing exactly that. In fact, the people who do show any form of chauvinism around me are the passive aggressive "feminist" women who talk about men as if they're the enemy. to summarize, people are only human, so they will behave stupidly, I've seen people get over that, so can you!!
Apr 7 2010: She isn't a self-absorbed kid who thinks everybody should be like her. She isn't saying: "you know what, being a child is stupid, let's skip it", what she is saying, is that childhood isn't a pointless phase in life that everyone goes through, and when it's over suddenly their "real people". they are people that are no less complex than any of "us". the main difference lies in their knowledge, experience and the fact that people don't listen to them unless their on TED. No offense whatsoever intended toward Adora.
Sep 7 2009: I haven't gone to university and in general I don't consider my self that smart a person but I have a prospective about the whole "WERE IT PROFITABLE", point. This hardly seems, even to me, as a proper source for this type of forum, but none the less I think it fitting. As a computer game player I often try to have as much gold as possible, later in the game I die, it happens, none the less when I look back I notice that I had a huge amount of gold with which to buy potions that would heal me, or magic that would help me escape. Now I know that there are no such things as magic potions, but at one time after my character died I stopped and asked myself: "why the hell did I want al that money?!", if anyone can find an answer to that please tell me, it's driving me insane!
