About Me

Nikhil Velpanur is an Entrepreneur, Innovator, Social activist, writer and occasional photographer.
He founded his first company at age 20 which was a magazine called 'Strange Brew' - a user generated, counterculture magazine that was founded on the premise that if the media could fuel people's minds with news and gossip, it would also be possible to empower and transform them through the pages of a magazine. After the magazine crashed and burnt, he helped revive it and get profitable as a media house that makes documentaries and films.
He also founded a company called Strange labs that plays around with technology. Their first product is called letshead.to - which is a marketplace for Food and Drink experiences.letshead.to partners with Restaurants and Pubs to sell their inventory online which can be bought for a discount or gifted. He built another website called 140verses.com that takes random sentences and makes poems out of it.
He currently works with the INK conference in association with TED, manages the fellows program and is responsible for taking forward ideas that emerge from the conference under the INKubator.
