About Raghava

Raghava KK, named by CNN as one of the 10 most remarkable people of 2010, is a multidisciplinary artist whose work is shown in galleries and museums around the world. After he quit formal education at the age of 17 to start his career as a newspaper cartoonist, he is today considered one of India's most successful young artists. Raghava applies his artistic practice outside the gallery space. He is actively involved in a radical education initiative, NuVu Studios, to an offshoot of Harvard and MIT, to redefine creativity in education. He has lectured at several universities and art institutions, including NYU, Carnegie Mellon, the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, etc. He serves on the NuVu advisory and has also advised the INK Conference, Singularity University, Innoz, Startup Village, Nytric, and Banto.

In 2011, Raghava's radical iPad book "Pop-it" shook up the concept of the ideal family and won a Kirkus Book Award for Best of 2011. He often collaborates with other artists, and has recently collaborated with Erykah Badu, Paul Simon, and Yann Vasnier, a FIFA Award winning perfumer. Raghava has given three TED talks and this year, will be presenting his brainwave art at TED. He lives and works in New York and India.

An idea worth spreading

I can't promise my children a life without bias. We are all biased, but I promise to bias my children with multiple perspectives.

I'm passionate about

Creativity, Empathy, and new ways of knowing!

Talk to me about

What drives you.

People don't know I'm good at

cooking, training dogs, playing the piano(by ear) and baby sitting!

My TED story

I don't know where to begin. TED has been a tour de force in my life! I love the community and everything it stands for!

Raghava KK: Shake up your story
Thank you all for the fabulous support! It means a lot to me. I work in isolation and for my idea to have so many resonating souls means the world to me. Please spread the message of perspectives and empathy. Tell YOUR story too! I also really appreciate the constructive criticism/feedback. I am reading and listening to all your views. Thank you once again. Warmly, Raghava

Stephen Wolfram: Computing a theory of all knowledge
Wow! I am so fascinated! I wish I can go back to school and fall in love with math, physics and computation all over again. I guess i will have to wait for my son to grow up and re-live and update my understanding of its capabilities! I see a lot of people have been put off by his delivery and his taking credit. I guess, these concerns do not bother me as I walk out of this talk feeling inspired. Thank you Stephen. This is a very inspiring talk!
