A comment on Talk: Jenna McCarthy: What you don't know about marriage

Feb 15 2012: This is basically a conversation opener. I liked the way she introduced her ideas but would love her to have shared a couple of deep questions about marriage.
Where do you get the courage to forgive each day? How do you find common ground to solve life and kids problems? How do you fave a tough family situation, like a personal illness or dementia?
Let's say that she just introduced the theme, now we have to think about it!
  • A comment on Talk: Stacey Kramer: The best gift I ever survived

Oct 10 2010: I honestly don't like this talk. When a reporter asked Randy Pausch about his cancer, he replied: If I had to choose I wouldn't have chosen cancer...
That's an honest response free from delusion.
  • A comment on Talk: His Holiness the Karmapa: The technology of the heart

Sep 4 2010: I'd love to be in a conference with that translator. He is great!

As for the Karmapa, take me off the list.

A reply on Talk: Rory Sutherland: Sweat the small stuff

Jul 5 2010: I agree. Ellegance is the proper term. Then we can move on talking: What are the elements of an ellegant solution?
Alan Siegel's presentation this year: Let's simplify legal jargon! is a formal example of a process oriented to an elegant solution.
On the other hand it looks to me that having an Ellegance Director doesn't yet fit our companies or governments.

A reply on Talk: Dan Meyer: Math class needs a makeover

Jul 5 2010: Understanding a problem and figuring out what the relevant issues are should be the method we teach not only in math but in life.
The fact that highschool students dislike math is not only related to the way the TV or socitey shapes them; it is also a consequence of boring classes and irrelevant solutions to non-important examples.
Dan is making a real effort to change his students mind and make them THINK.
The real fact behind the scene is this: Every student wants and needs to learn math, but a huge part of our society are trying to convince them of something else.
Why are you taking one medicine and not simple colored water? Why are you writing on a computer? Do not tell me you don't have to understand highschool or college math.
Math is one of the greatest tools we use to build our civilization.

A comment on Talk: Julia Sweeney has "The Talk"

May 14 2010: I loved this talk. Unexpected things happen when you follow the rules from the experts on how to answer question to your kids.
It is amazing how fast they grow and how much information they can get during the process.
Sex is still a little bit difficult to discuss with my kids because I try to get them ready to hear different stories from their peers.
I certainly relate to Julia's feelings.
Thank you for a really fun time!

Apr 21 2010: You don't know. Go out, get the science about this and try it yourself. You will be amazed.

A comment on Talk: James Randi: Homeopathy, quackery and fraud

Apr 21 2010: Randi: You are truly Amazing and I am really happy for being able to translate your talk into Spanish.
The JREF is now growing to reach students and teach them about critical thinking. Way to go!!
  • A comment on Talk: Daniel Kahneman: The riddle of experience vs. memory

Mar 1 2010: A very interesting approach on how we remember any experience. I still have mixed feelings on how to approach: Customer satisfaction from this perspective. The colonoscopy being the prime example!!
  • A reply on Talk: Jamie Oliver's TED Prize wish: Teach every child about food

Mar 1 2010: Kudos for you! I made the one in spanish but it took me several days... You did it really fast!
