A comment on Talk: Nicholas Christakis: How social networks predict epidemics
Two points may be worth mentioning:
1) the assumption that each individual is equally likely to get the flu (or adopt an idea) seems very simplistic to me. I imagine that there is a degree of 'adoption propensity' that should also be included in the equation.
2) the beginning of the talk sounds strikingly familiar with the beginning of Malcom Gladwell's Tipping Point, which was written several years ago...

Looking also at the immense scientific benefits that this wealth of data can generate, I believe that the patientslikeme 'language' could become the global standard for effective, efficient and empathetic healthcare data recording.
I look forward to see it expand beyond its current anglophone borders!
