Taylor Wilson: My radical plan for small nuclear fission reactors
I agree with Adam Janka below. The kid is very impressive, but the talk is basically a PR stunt. Like many here have mentioned, the design of the reactor is not exactly innovative and basically incorporate lots of already present ideas. It's only an impressive talk because it's given by a 19 year old high school student to a non-expert audience. Glorifying Taylor Wilson as a prodigy while he is taking credits for ideas not invented by him is not a good idea, not even for himself. I'd rather hear Taylor Wilson telling us his own story of how he got to design nuclear reactors as a teenager. If we really want to encourage young people to start to follow their passions, then the big idea here should be that even a teenager CAN design nuclear reactors, not that Taylor Wilson is a genius.

Juan Enriquez: Will our kids be a different species?
I quote from previous comment: "unoriginal, uninformed and longwinded" Most scientific ideas he mentioned shows that he complete don't understand them, such as "evolution", or "species", or use "chemicals" to describe transcription factors used to derive iPS cells. Plus, nothing is new here if one pays any attention life sciences. Can anyone tells me what he is saying in addition to "life sciences have huge potentials"?

Chip Conley: Measuring what makes life worthwhile
Conley is asking the right question but have no idea how to answer it. His happiness equation is a really cheesy idea. If we're going to maximally want what we have and minimize our ambitions, we're no different than swines in the farms.
